C.A. (Chris) Orrico received the M.Sc. degree (Cum Laude) in the Science and Technology of Nuclear Fusion from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Eindhoven, the Netherlands, in 2022 and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina USA, in 2016. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in the Control Systems Technology group within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at TU/e and the Energy Systems and Control group within the Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research. His research interests include advanced methods for kinetic control of nuclear fusion tokamaks and is investigating algorithms for solving hybrid model predictive control problems in real-time.
