Jilles received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Eindhoven in 2022. His thesis was titled 'Rational Basis Functions to Attenuate Vibrating Flexible Modes with Compensation of Input Nonlinearity: Applied to Semiconductor Wire Bonder'. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the Control Systems Technology (CST) section within Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on data-driven control, data-driven estimation, Gaussian processes, and machine learning with an application to Electron Microscopy. He hopes his research can contribute to bridging the gap between high-performing methods from machine learning and fundamental theory from systems and control.
